Health Sciences 2300A/B Lecture Notes - Lecture 15: Perineum, Inguinal Ligament, Pelvic Floor
Document Summary
Lecture 15 part ii- the muscular system- muscles of the trunk. Objectives: identify muscular compartments, vertebral muscles, abdominal muscles (cid:858)breathi(cid:374)g(cid:859) (cid:373)us(cid:272)les, perineum and pelvic diaphragm muscles. Any muscles attached to the rib assists in breathing (primary roles, move ribs during inhalation and exhalation: within each compartment identify: Muscles also play a role in upper limb. Move the limbs, move them away to see the deep back/vertebral muscles (because they cross the vertebrae) Rectus spinae muscles- i like standing muscles. Illiocostalis- ileum to costals , span across the back of the ribs, not as narrow as you see in the diagram. Longissimus muscle- run through triangular fissure- thoracal-lumbar fissure, long large tendon, attached to the transverse process all the way up to the vertebral column. Ventral- motor (efferent) information move out to the root. Dorsal- sensory (afferent), sensory information move into, what innervates the back muscles.
