Document Summary
Lecture 12 muscles and nerves of the upper limb ii. You notice that forearm flexion of a patient is weak. You suspect that either biceps brachii or brachialis aren"t functioning properly. See if the patient can supinate to determine what muscle isn"t functioning properly. Help w/ flexion but not main source. Palmaris longus (inserts on the palmar aponeurosis) Palm a basketball squeeze hand together. Not everyone has this originally helped to swing on trees and hold onto a branch. Flexor carpi ulnaris does the opposite of flexor carpi radialis. Carpometacarpal (cmc) between the carpal and metacarpal bones. Metacarpophalangeal (mcp) between the metacarpal and phalanges. Proximal interphalangeal (pip) between the proximal phalanges. Distal interphalangeal (dip) between the distal phalanges. Not in the superficial layer, but is the superficial of the digitorum muscles. If it doesn"t cross the elbow joint it will not contribute to elbow flexion. Flexor digitorum profundus tendon deep and goes further.
