The skin in the largest organ in the body. It consists of all four tissues, all playing an important role in the body. Mona lisa is a well known portrait, and has a legacy on its own due to mona lisa"s smile. Really speaks to the idea that the skin attributes the beauty of an individual. In some species things like hair play a more important role than in other species. The idea that beauty is skin deep when you look at skin on an individual, you"re actually just looking at dead tissue, the alive skin is underneath dead tissue. When breaking skin up into layers the skin has two layers epidermis and dermis. Below it is the hypodermis, which is not part of the skin, it"s just fat. When you hear the term epi, it suggests that it"s above. Hypo you"re thinking below, it means below something.
