Document Summary
Muscles of the pectoral girdle and upper limbs. Identify muscular compartments: pe(cid:272)toral (cid:858)or shoulder(cid:859) girdle, arm (cid:858)or (cid:271)ra(cid:272)hium(cid:859, forarm (cid:858)or antebrachium(cid:859, within each compartment identify: muscular attachments common nerve supply, muscular function. The upper limb is more involved than the lower limb, many muscled move the upper girdle. In this region, we will talk about 3 specific areas. The pectoral/shoulder girdle muscle, the arm/brachium, and from the elbow to the wrist is th e forearm. For each of these we will talk about function, innervation and attachment. Separated into 2 groups: muscles that move the shoulder, anterior, posterior, muscles that move the humerus, axial. In the upper arm, there are muscles that move the humerus and scapula, are really narrow in grouping based on what they do. The pectoral girdle also known as shoulder girdle has 2 groups. There are the muscles that move the scapula or clavicle and there are also muscles that directly move the humerus.
