The area of muscle controlled by a speci c efferent nerve pair: (motor nerves leave the brain and spinal columns in pairs at distinct levels) Commands on what to move is controlled by motor cortex. Somatosensory cortex is right next to motor cortex, where sensations on body parts arrive for processing. For ne control muscles maybe maximum 10 places of activation. For powerful muscles, lots of branching off of one motor neuron attaching to 1000s of motor end plates.
