Constitution act of 1867 gives governments their powers, sets up institutions etc. Canada had to adopt a written constitution because of the differences between canada and the united kingdom. opreserves british involvement in canadian politics oretained power of reservation and disallowance. Canada could be disallowed by the uk omajor omission: no amending formula within the constitution.
