Written like contacts between states, relate to how the treaty governs the state and its people. Multilateral: three or more, could be hundreds of states. Plurilateral treaties: entered between one state and a group of states. North american free trade agreement, european trade agreement. Aka trade agreements, covenants, arrangements (word treaty doesn"t have to be included as long as 4 elements of treaty are met) ** signature: signing to express political support, doesn"t bind a state to the obligation of the treaty. Expresses a plan to join and be bound by the treaty. A country deposits ratification and becomes a party to the treaty officially, bound to the obligations set out by it. Monism: international law is immediately incorporated as part of a state"s domestic law for example, in the case of a treaty, upon a state ratifying that treaty. Dualism: there is a strict separation between the international and the domestic spheres of law.
