Most people go to court not necessarily to enforce their legal rights but because of there interests(needs, priorities, concerns) Designer: doesn t want to pay for new trees, reputation, future business, difference of opinion in landscape design. Townhouses: doesn t want to pay for trees, lost revenue. Not to go to court, rather mediate or negotiate. Pride costs people a lot of money because they want to go to court because they think they are right. Court said that the case should be public because our court system is based on precedents. Many of the cases we hear about are criminal cases and therefore must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.
