The accident reveals the substance because what crops up is a sort of analysis, a techno-analysis of what is beneath any knowledge. It follows that fighting against the damage done by progress above all means uncovering the hidden truth of our successes in this accidental revelation of the incriminated substances. And if we don"t think about them, why don"t we, when the procession of catastrophes is effectively endless, as there will always be another, and another, and another. Aspects of the accident, demonstrate that scientific progress do not proceed in calm ways it is a road to no where, we do not move smoothly into the future but rather we stumble. To invent the sailing ship or steamer is to invent the shipwreck. To invent the train is to invent the rail accident of derailment. To invent the family automobile is to produce the pile-up on the highway.
