If this passage is contrasted as singularity as a political myth, we will find a useful counter narrative. There is no destiny there are other possibilities that must be considered. What if the technologies that are predicted appear but do not change. This scenario is just as likely as the singularity. To break these possibilities you must think in correspondence to teleology. Constructing better models which describe what time is and isn"t we suggest that nothing can go wrong. If we continue to believe the temporal model then nothing will change socially constructed and politicized. Under capital we can teleology just convinces us that life is actually changing yet capitalism simply changes just to keep us the same. Better phones, cars, blogs, movies, ways to connect but not better ways to live. What we are doing is consistently framed to be simply how we live.
