Very common effects most men after age 40. 2-5x normal weight (walnut size to tangerine) Decreased force of urinary stream: chronic obstruction complications. Bladder hypertrophy, dilation bladder needs to work harder. Urinary flow abnormalities cause urinary stone formation. Bladder traveculation (dilatation) & hypertrophy + stone in the bladder. Anti-androgens minimizes hyperplastic drive: surgery to open up urethra channel. 1 in 7 chance of being diagnosed during lifetime.
