Document Summary

Oxygen goes into lungs to get transported in blood and delivered to organs. Carbon dioxide produced by organs get transported in blood to return to lungs and get expelled. Oxygen from external envt enters lungs to go into pulmonary capillaries via diffusion and into pulmonary vein. Carbon dioxide from organs enters pulmonary arteries into pulmonary capillaries to diffuse into lungs and get exhaled. Oxygenated blood goes to heart via pulmonary vein and then into systemic arteries to tissues. Carbon dioxide from tissues goes to heart via systemic veins and then into pulmonary arteries to lungs to get exhaled. Blood gas values always measured at systemic arteries (not pulmonary) So after oxygenated blood from heart pumped out to body. At first no barrier in box so have a lot of area available for diffusion. After period of time put barrier through middle to stop diffusion. Will see that half of oxygen on one side and other half on other side.
