Some examples: elections (formal politics, demonstrations people seeking social change, policy decisions health care, windmills, education policy, law-making, legislation taxes, spending, health, education. Involves laws that assign your rights and duties: decisions are enforced. Ex: hispaniola : haiti on the left, dominican republic on the right, haiti is notoriously poor, dominican is relatively well off, different environmental conditions in each (haiti = little rainfall, Dishonestly seeking personal gain (getting more for yourself, being selfish) Noble pursuit of the public good (jack leyton meant well, he went into politics to try to help people) (cid:862)who gets what, whe(cid:374) a(cid:374)d ho(cid:449)? (cid:863) Primate examples: chimpanzee politics, competition, power, conflict, dominance strategies and alliances. It"s a pro(cid:272)ess: social, addressing conflict and trying to overcome it. Issues decisions about what to do that are binding and enforced.
