Aldo moro: one of the most influential and longest-serving politicians in modern italy post-1945, president of dc (christian democratic party, 1944-94, former prime minister 1963-68, 1974-76, kidnapped by a far-left terrorist group called the red. Was originally wanted to broker a deal between the dc party and the cpi (communist party of italy) Cpi one of the largest communist parties in europe: 30% of votes in various elections in italy never was able to follow through and win the majority. Extremely regular routine very punctual, little security, etc: demanded the release of a dozen rb prisoners, rejected by the government headed by giulio andreotti (pm 1972-3, 76-9, 89-92) Also belonged to the dc party: rb"s reduced demands still rejected, moro"s letters to parliament pleaded to negotiate with terrorists. Letters delegitimized didn"t appear to be the personality of moro.
