Armed force": military institutions of a state with the legal basis and supporting institutional infrastructure: e. g. Armed group": any entity, distinct from armed forces, that operates under the auspices of a non-sectioned military. Traditionally when thinking of child soldiers one pictures an african child holding a gun. This phenomenon transcends recent time and african space. Un convention of the rights of the child (1990) paved the way for securing the rights of children.
