Psychology is the scientific study of the brain, mind, consciousness, thinking (cognitive process), feelings, emotions & behaviour. Overall justification: the more you"re rewarding, the less you"ll enjoy. Social loathing: do less work when in a group. Bystander effect: the more people are around you, the less likely you are to help because you"d assume someone else will call for help. Naylon effect: attractive people aren"t seen as less intelligent as non-attractive. Psychology: study of behaviour of actions, thoughts, feelings, reactions. Levels of analysis: behaviour and its causes can be examined at the biological level (e. g. brain processes, genetic influences), the psychological level, and the environmental level (e. g. past and current physical and social environments to which are exposed) Empiricism: knowledge gained through observation & our senses.
