Psychophysics is the relationship between the magnitude of a sensation and the magnitude of the stimulus that gave rise to that perceptual sensation. Discrimination is how much stimulus is necessary to know that there is a change in that stimulus. The answer to this question is, by definition, the difference threshold or jnd. The ability to recognize that the stimulus in the environment has changed. Weber"s law jnd is proportional to the magnitude of the stimulus with which the comparison is being made.
