Must rely on student behavior and performance to determine if a child has a learning disability. In the future, brain studies may be part of the diagnosis as it is thought to have a neurological basis behind it. Unexplained underachievement: when students, due to factors other than neurologically-based learning problems, struggle to learn in school.
