We typically have either very clinical terms (e. g. , penis, vulva) or slang terms (e. g. , cock, pussy) that many people may find offensive or crude. Let"s adopt a driving as a metaphor for a minute. Imagine parents trying to teach their children about driving by using euphemisms for the various parts like the pedals, the emergency brake, or the gear shift all while never letting them look at these parts directly! That would be ludicrous, but it"s basically the approach that we apply to sexuality: consequently, i strongly recommend that you get to know yourself visually, but also become familiar with how everything feels. There is nothing sick, wrong, dirty, or inappropriate about examining your own body. If you happen to a have willing opposite-sex partner, consider "studying" together.
