Job analysis becomes more difficult as job changes. So new version is called competency model. Need to be cautious because dealing with ambiguity. You can get fairly in depth answers and elaborate more but costly and time consuming and requires strong verbal ability. They could behave differently if they know they are being watched but at least you can observe multiple people at a time. However, costly and time effective, intrusive, can only see visible things, etc. Allows for a bigger sample, way less expensive and time consuming, also may make people for comfortable, used for job evals. Could also contact other organizations and review their job analyses. Onet u. s. based job analytic tool and is a good place to start when doing a job analysis.
