Document Summary

A group of people with some interaction that are interdependence. Huge area of research in io psych mostly because teams are everywhere! People work better in teams because we are social animals. A team is 2 or more individuals working together. Members have specific roles but there can be overlap. Must be some common goal or objective. Can work from same or different geographic locatins. Often easy to do in a formal setting but a lot of research in idea of emergence of leadership naturally and who is identified as a leader by the team. Most often were talking about implicit norms (things that just happen) that happen over time. Teams are good at enforcing these norms. Evaluation creiteria can be identified at individual or team level. 360 degree feedback is really good here. People are complicated enough and then when you put people in a team you multiply the complexity.
