Construal = how we perceive, comprehend and interpret our social world: eg. naive realism: conviction that we perceive things as they really are (maoz et. al 2002) Israel or palestine peace proposals - tested that ppl wouldn"t perceive it in the same way as if their own culture was proposing it. Philosophy: similar questions but different methods (introspection, argumentation or reasoning) Folk psychology and common sense: unreliable, oversimpli ed and contradictory: folk wisdom is contradictory - sayings with contradictory other sayings.
