The practice of silence and stillness is hard to attain today with all our electronics. Are the people inside lonely, are there lives empty. Maybe the people inside don t want others in their lives. In the busyness of life in the city people can go here and reflect, have a quiet moment. Neon lights are usually at nightclubs, people go there sometimes when theyre lonely. A lot of blue and green, generally dark sad colours. Even the warm colours have a cool tone to them. Vermeer- jesus in the house of mary and martha. Martha is doing all the work and serving. Jesus is seated talking to martha but pointing to mary. Jesus saying to martha that mary has chosen better, to listen to jesus. He is pointing to mary, but also suggests an invitation.
