Rape prone campus environments: rape prone society: one in which the incidence of rape is reported by observers to be high, or rape is excused as a ceremonial expression of masculinity, or rape is an act by which men are allowed to punish or threaten women, rape free society: one in which the act of rape is either infrequent or does not occur, does not mean that rape doesn"t occur, rather term suggests that sexual aggression/violence is socially disapproved and punished severely, great deal of evidence from numerous societies that sexual aggression is rarely expressed, rape in tribal societies, part of a configuration that includes interpersonal violence, male dominance, and sexual separation, rape prone behaviour associated with environmental insecurity, rape is part of a larger struggle for control, in societies in which men are in harmony with their environment, rape is generally absent.
