A network is simply two or more computers that are connecyed via sotware and hardware so they can communicate with one another. Each device connected to a network is referred to as a node. Beneit of sharing networks, sharing internet connecion sharing peripeherials, sharing iles, common communicaions. Network administraion involves task such as installing new computers and devices, monitoring the network to ensure its performing eiciently, updaing and installing new dotware on the network and conirugring or setuping up security for the network. Data transfer rate aka bandwidth is the maximum speed which can data can be transmited. Throughput is the actual speed of data transfer that is achieved. Network architetures or designs are classiied according to: distance between nodes, the way which in the network is managed, the set of rules or protocol used to exchange data, the communicaions medium used to transport the data.
