Document Summary

The first law of thermodynamics or the law of conservation of energy states that. In all physical and chemical changes, energy is neither created nor destroyed, but it may be converted from one form to another. In other words, you cannot get more energy out of a system than what you put into it. In order words in a physical or chemical change none of the atoms involved are neither created or destroyed. Also states that there is no such thing as throw away" everything we throw away is still here somewhere on the planet or atmosphere. Energy quality is the amount of energy available that can perform useful work. The first law may make us feel like since energy is neither created nor destroyed that we have enough energy however that is not the case because of energy quality.
