They sometimes need external incentives eg money praise attention. Opperant conditioning: operator effectively in the environment. Engage in behaviour that produces attractive consequences. Learn not to engage in behaviours that produce aversive consequences. := cue/ incentives doesn"t cause eg green light sets the occasion for you to go. The shows tht the behavioural response that causes he consequences of the car going. Incentive: attracts or repels a person from doing something. They create the expectation that attractive or unattractive consequences are forthcoming. The incentive value of an environment event learned through conditioning/ experience. This shapes the later goal directed behaviour.
