Older, disabled, gender, ethnic and cultural are all covered in hr. Usually understaffed, under funded and limited to a supporting roles with little decision making power. As the organization becomes more complex, we need to ensure hr is able to support the organization as required. When you do business in other countries you need to be able to adapt to them. When you send employees abroad you need to ensure employees are safe. Ensures that you know what you need and you have an applicant pool to fill. Being able to do internationally what you do domestically need and have the pool to fill it. Fit: degree to which needs, demands, goals, objectives and or structures of 1 component are consistent with those of another. Type 1- internal fit: looking at the organization itself. Develop hr practices depending on that country ( eg: they have fridays off there and other days working)
