Document Summary

This system came out after the merchants and traders realized they need to better control the type, quantity, and quality of cloth. So some merchants would just supply the wool, linen and shit and some would also give the looms. By 18th century merchants changed the system to factory system: factory system = system of production based on having all the spinners, weavers, and other workers together into 1 location to make the cloth. Because govt passed law where everyone must have a job, people had to employ themselves so factories worked for that like farmers who got kicked out of farming their lands, were drawn to the factories. Mughal india in 17th century = empire made by the turks. India was a major trading country, they had links with europe, islamic world and china. In 1690 the british east india company was granted control in east asian trade by british govt.
