Chinese exclusion act 1982 prohibited asian immigration for 10 years. Nobody of chinese origin immigrated for 15 years as a result. No depiction of asians in pop culture for a long time. Other non-white superhero comics were released by marvel and dc but none were very popular. For 28 years there were no superheroes of color. There were lots of people of color before 1966 but they were all villains. Racist drawing small eyes big mouth.
