Animation: defn: any process whereby artificial movement is created by photographing a series of drawings, objects, or computer images one by one. Small changes in position, recorded frame by frame, create the illusion of movement. All film is animation: still frames on a film strip animated into movement. Animation: artificial movement where differences between frames are manipulated in production. As a type of film, animation is defined by its production process. Animation is found in all film forms: narrative, documentary, experimental. Animation can be integrated with live-action cinematography.
