Western films: developed classical film narrative, told of the settling of the western frontier. The west first time we see him is on the frontier he"s associated with the outdoors - thus the west: earp is ultimately civilized as well (suit and pocket watch, moustache, important scenes: Wyatt goes to barber and is doused with honey flowers. Wyatt earp (1994: lawrence kasdan; he cowrote many of the star wars films, also wrote continental. Divide and raiders of the lost arc his debut was a film called body heat (neo film noir) Field of dreams - farmer makes baseball field. Ford ignored these unseemly characteristics in his film. Kasdan"s film is semi-biographical, as it goes back to his childhood; by contrast we know less of ford"s earp: we learn that as a boy in the civil war, earp dreamt of fighting. His family moved west when he was a boy.
