Tall tales are a form of legends, contains human beings rather than mythical creatures and supernatural beings and tells stories of individuals with abilities. Cultural heroes represent cultural value of a collective society because of what they are able to accomplish or like edward bloom in big fish, lived experiences. Legends include historical truth than realistic details, are a form of entertainment. They come out of regional folklore and defines a region during a historical time period. In edward bloom"s case, world war southern usa was evident so certain attitudes are reflected. Tall tales are stories of human being overcoming challenges and solidify by providing appropriate channels for social hostility etc. Outlaw hero unwillingly participates in a bank heist. His participation leads to legendary statuses of what he represents. Often these stories are vernacular /common speech and expressions are key components. pay attention to the voiceovers in big fish for the framing.
