Document Summary

Printed in 1865, alice is one of the most celebrated works of children literature. There were questions around morality, identity, and manners. A lot of the parts focused on the relationship between children and adults. Carroll legitimizes nonsense in a way that it has never been legitimized before. This question arises several times in the book. We can assume that she goes to school through several things that she says. We can also assume that girls her age were supposed to memorize poems. Much of the book is about alice"s identity being undermined by the events in wonderland, but still the question comes again and again that who is alice? . The novel definitely talks about the growing process from a child to an adult (the change in alice"s size again and again represents this constant war between the inner child and the grown up in us).
