Sport it created and regulated by people - "codified. " Important people and powerful people have created the rules - people of higher socio-economic status. Most sport we"ve created by men for men. Antonio gramsci was interested in finding why the standard keeps being reproduced. He said people are by far come complex, these concepts are used because power become normalized or naturalized. If we think of things as two groups, its not good. We tend to classify people and then rank them. Gramsci - there is resistance, status quo gets reproduced because theres an element of consent to what the dominant group is selling power has to always be produced, its never static.
