Asthma treated with an inhalent containing corticosteroid and a bronchodilator. A form of treatment to reduce the allergic reactions. Consists of a series of injection with a solution containing the allergens that cause the allergic symptoms. Allergies are more prevalent in developed countries. Clean environment that are seen in cities and north america are really promoting our immune system. Those that live in dirtier or less cleaner environments, are used to living there and therefore are used to the allergens around them. Facts about the relationship b/t clean environments and allergies. There is a lower incidence of allergy in those living on farms or rural areas. More exposure to bacteria and other antigens. Pet ownership reduces the prevalence of allergy in kids (especially for outdoor dogs) There is a lower incidence of allergy in younger children of large families with 3 or more older siblings. There is a lower incidence of asthma in children who go to day care centers.
