Document Summary

A perfect blackbody is an object that satis es 2 points: absorbs all incident radiation from outside sources, re ecting none back. This means if you shine any light on it it will re ect none of it back. They are very good absorbers of incoming radiation: they emit light, coming from internal energy sources generated only by temperature. These objects usually glow with a certain colour, and that colour is based on how hot they are: there are no perfect blackbodies in nature, but stars are the closest thing to an ideal blackbody. They generate their own light based on the thermonuclear fusion that goes on within their core. The way we study blackbody objects is by making graphs: blackbody curve: a curve showing the amount of light emitted by a star at each wavelength. Our sun emits more green light than anything else.
