Lecture 4 taking information from the crime, the evidence that was left. and using that information in order to make a judgement about who is likely to be the criminal. Often profiling is with serial killers that committed a few crimes and not just one. Sherlock homes books were the first to use the idea of looking into evidence of the crime scenes before judging who might be the criminal. Jack the ripper is a title that was assigned to an individual that believed to committed murder of women prostitutes, 5 were reported to be killed by him but 11 actually were killed in a similar way. Son of sam terrorized nyc form the summer of 1976 to 1977, convicted of 8 shooting attacks. He listened to a dog who told him which people need to be removed. A profile was created to him before he confessed. Psychologist said he was depressed, friendless, loner, rejected by woman.
