Hallucinations could be a symptom of bipolar disorder. The one week time span could be overlooked (waved) if the manic episode is intense and severe. Mania a state of arousal and extreme mood change, not much sleep, extreme euphoria, reckless behavior, grandiose thinking thoughts that they are having super powers. Flight in ideas- jump from one topic to topic in conversations. Hyper-sexuality in abused children this behavior is more anxious. The hyper-sexuality in bd is more of pleasure seeking behavior. Hypomanic not as intense as manic episode. Individual displays numerous and persistent hypomanic and depressive symptoms for a year or more but do not meet criteria for a manic episode or a mdd. Hypermenia but not for enough number of days. Need to be monitored cause they have the potential. Hallucination belief, sensing in perception, hearing voices, touch, smell, distortion. Delusion- thinking that does not match reality, faults thinking. Mixed moods: both signs of mania and depression in children.
