Document Summary
The author is of the view that law is not the solution to everything and cannot be used as the predominant means to settle adversities in the society. The article seems to rebut the rational argument that the law creates order in the society by highlighting all the times it failed to sort the disturbing issue of the sons of freedom. They continued to be a nuisance for a whole century, despite legal means being used as the only forms of resolution to the problem. The article further highlights how the sons of freedom increased the magnitude of their aggressions and moved to displays of nudity to the destruction of property as more serious laws were imposed on them. Hence, the law is portrayed as accelerating these acts that seemed to bother the government for a long time. However, the more legislation was passed to curb the behavior of this group, the more they became determined to cause destruction.
