When converged together, enclosed a step desert where agriculture where almost impossible. Had cordillera volcanica, many volcanoes, covered in pine and oak forest. The valley of mexico is here and has a lake texcoco. Locust of an ancient civilization called zapotecs as well as monte alban. Both highlands and lowlands where agriculture was practiced had fertile soil from the volcanic eruption. Since mesoamerica lies almost wholly within the tropics, it has a pronounced wet and dry seasons. Some parts are very wet jungle, or dry and unproductive deserts.
