Goal of administration: isolate types of sensory stimulation to elicit physical response. Actively coordinating vision, hearing, and some initial movements to attend to. E. g. , turns to look at something he/she sees or hears, places objects in stimuli hand into mouth, etc. Continuing to look in the direction of an object/ person in which they last appeared. Coordinating movements to continue or repeat events that are unusual or interesting. E. g. , reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects that make noise or light up. Will now search for objects that are partially hidden or out of view, but on their body. Stage 4: 8 to 12 months coordination of secondary schemes. Recognizes certain signs associated with certain actions that follows the signs. Can use existing behaviors to solve problems. Can imitate movements of a model and corresponding movements of invisible parts of the body (e. g. , lips) Can imitate new actions of a model performs.
