Since january 2006 the world price of oil (brent) has uctuated widely. Set up a framework, break things down to only the necessary info for the model. Market- a group of buyers and sellers of a particular product. Competitive market- one with many buyers and sellers, each has a negligible e ect on price. Buyers & sellers so numerous that no one can a ect market price each is a price taker . What you o er doesn"t change the market price. Identical products and each buyer and seller are so small that they can"t really in uence the markets. In this chapter, we assume markets are perfectly competitive.
