There are now two rival powers instead of one ruling country: general issues dividing the soviet union and united states in the cold war super-power a rivalry. Known as the cold war because it lacked active military fighting. Not to say that there was not a hot war. Hot war examples: korean war, vietnam war, soviet-afgan war. He was very critical of communism and joseph stalin for the division of europe.
