PR 660 Lecture Notes - Lecture 87: James E. Grunig, Womanism
Document Summary
The feminist perspective variety in feminist literature is challenging for all the saved scholars in this field. Feminist scholarship is also very personal, so it can be hard to find your voice and direction with all the literature out there on feminism. With the advancement of feminist scholarship in and of pr, there could be so much more that a feminist perspective may give. There isn"t a monolithic feminism, but instead, feminisms. Feminist scholarship gives a lot of different perspectives to help understand and explore the practice of pr. The task also has a lot of challenges, though. One is to overcome how feminist as a term has been alienated. This alienation has come through how people have described their reluctance to identify as a feminist. This also comes through the propensity to clarify your position as a feminist. Some scholars have said this alienation has become larger and grown in a gap between boomers and the younger women generation.
