Two sections out of book for friday : purpose what he is doing and writing in this book sets out his philosophy and how he sees the world, and second section on tactics : in this ch. Think about this from perspective of people wanting to be involved in a social movement. You have the diagnostic/prognostic frames figured out question is how do you go about acting contentiously, what do you do. Remembering that the purpose of social movement politics, as opposed to any regular institutionalized politics both are interested in goals, in aims they want to get done. But if you want to be involved in a social movement, means you have come to the conclusion that the use of institutionalized politics will not get you there, to your goal. The nature of social movement politics is contention, that"s what it is designed to be.
