Define/distinguish white (slaveholding) faith and black (slave) faith. God has an eternal reason or law for how the world has been structured. Natural law is how we respond to this law. Natural law and myth of anglo-saxon exceptionalism. Black people are naturally supposed to be enslaved. White people are created to lead and enslave and take land from others. Black freedom threatens the eternal and natural order. White hegemony is natural and divinely intended. Louis agassiz at the forefront of arguing for polygenesis (vs. monogenesis) God fits exactly with our constructs and ideas (especially those of people in power). Exodus story used to support (cid:1445)chosenness(cid:1446) and manifest destiny. God is present and in solidarity with those who are oppressed. And black people (all people) are created free and they are supposed to fight. Black people are created in the image of god. Exodus story used to show god"s hatred of oppression.
