Econ advantages : potential for revision (when the audience criticize certain episode, the producer may change the plot, fosters dedicated loyal . Beat: smallest mode of narrative (1-2mins, builds to plots but also contain drama and purpose. Episode: structured by culmination or theme. Example: sex in the city: four women with different story but have something in common: often 3 or 4 acts ( curtains before ads) Arc: crosses several episodes or seasons, storytelling or character arc, goal: continued audience engagement. Narrative complexity = a form of tv storytelling with it"s own formal attributes.
