Aggression: the intentional aim to cause harm to another individual or group. Like to hurt someone or to make ourselves feel better. Instrumental aggression: aggression based on the attempt to obtain an objective. We know why we"re doing something and there"s a plan behind it. Finding acts of aggression as one or the other only is difficult. Tell participants in gaming experiments that they would get paid. The participant then saw the other person"s screen and see their choice. The other person could choose 8/8 or 5/11, 5/5 or 9/6. The first participant can then choose 8/8 or 8/6, 5/11 or 4/4, 5/5 or 5/3, Instrumental aggression reasons for choosing the number they do. Aggression from a focus on the self. If you both confess, you both get 5 years. If you confess + your partner doesn"t, you get 0 years and partner gets 20. If you stay silent + your partner confesses, you get 20 years partner gets 0.
