T test: conditions and two z/t sample tests. Conditions for t test in a given study. Sample drawn should be a simple random sample. Sample size is small and can evaluate the sd of the sample. In terms of the draws from a box: Student"s curve should be used under following circumstances. Data are like draws from a box. Number of observations is small, so the sd of the box cannot be estimated very accurately. Histogram for the contents of the box does not look too different from the normal curve. W/a large # of measurements (25>) the normal curve would be used. If the sd of the box is unknown and the contents of the box follow the normal curve, then the normal curve can be used even for small samples. Ex 1: on another day,6 readings on span gas are.
